How request links work

Each request has a unique secure portal link. Your team can open it with Portal preview from the request page, and clients receive it when you send the request email.

What the client sees

• A page titled with the request period, such as Monthly documents or the selected statement month.
• A due date card. If no due date is set, it shows Not set.
• A progress bar showing how many requested items have been completed.
• A request summary with the client, period, missing item count, and status.
• A message from your firm. If no custom message was entered, CrankHQ shows a default upload instruction.

How long the link works

Request links are signed and generated with a 14-day expiration. If a client says the link expired, send or resend the request from the request page so they receive a fresh link.

When a link is blocked

A cancelled request is not accessible from the portal. Completed requests are visible, but the upload controls are locked.
