1. Information we collect
We may collect information you provide directly, including your name, work email address, firm name, team size, client-count range, account information, support messages, uploaded files, request responses, and other content you submit through Crank.
We also collect technical and usage information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, timestamps, referring URLs, authentication events, and service activity needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and maintain the service, create and administer accounts, process signups, trials, subscriptions, payments, deliver requested communications, support users, secure the platform, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, analyze product usage, improve features, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Client documents and customer data
Organizations using Crank may upload or request documents and information relating to their own clients. The subscribing organization controls that content and is responsible for having the authority to collect and process it. We process customer data only to provide the service, follow customer instructions, protect the platform, and meet applicable legal requirements.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us host, secure, monitor, communicate, store files, process payments, or otherwise operate Crank. These providers may access information only as necessary to perform services for us and are expected to protect it.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect rights or safety, to investigate abuse, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
5. Connected storage integrations
When you connect a document destination such as Zoho WorkDrive, Dropbox, S3, or Google Drive when available, we may process account identifiers, folder identifiers, access tokens, file metadata, and files as needed to authenticate the connection, display available destinations, export approved documents, troubleshoot delivery, and maintain integration security.
We do not use files or data from connected storage accounts for advertising. You may disconnect integrations from your account settings or by revoking access directly with the third-party provider. If Google Drive is enabled, our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, session management, and product analytics. You can control cookies through your browser, but disabling required cookies may prevent parts of the service from functioning.
7. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain business and security records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and why it was collected.
8. Data security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, or misuse will never occur.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing. You may also opt out of nonessential marketing communications using the unsubscribe method included in those messages. Account and service communications may still be sent when necessary.
10. Children’s privacy
Crank is intended for business use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. International processing
Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where we or our service providers operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.
