What Crank does

One workflow for every document you need from a client.

Crank is client document request software. Your firm creates a checklist, sends it to a client, follows what is still missing, reviews each submission, and exports the completed packet.

01 / ASK

Send a clear request checklist

Start from a reusable template or build a new list of documents, answers, and confirmations. Choose the client, recipient, statement month, and due date.

02 / FOLLOW UP

Remind clients about missing items

Choose no automatic reminders, every day, every two days, every three days, or weekly. The dashboard also shows follow-ups that need attention.

03 / REVIEW

Review each file as it arrives

Download a submission, approve it, or reject it with a reason. The client can replace the file without starting a new request or email thread.

04 / EXPORT

Move the completed packet to storage

When the request is resolved, export approved client files to the storage destination configured by your firm.

Know what needs attention

Open Crank and see which clients and files are holding up the close.

The dashboard counts open closes, past-due requests, outstanding documents, and uploads ready for review. Below those totals, it lists blocked clients and the follow-ups due now.

Should I upload the merchant processor report as a PDF, or is CSV better?

ElvisJul 10, 10:44 AM

CSV is best if you can export it. If not, a PDF is perfectly fine.

Nina PatelJul 11, 4:18 PM

Thanks. I uploaded the statements and will send the processor report next.

Client conversations

Questions stay with the request they affect.

The shared inbox shows the client, contact, request, latest message, and unread count. Replies remain connected to the same request record.

Also inside the request

Approve a correct upload. Reject an incomplete one. Explain the correction. Download the file. Complete the request when every required item is resolved.
